Last Week In June

The end of June sees the end of one of the busiest times of year for the vineyard owners. They have been:

  • attaching the branches to the top wire (by hand)
  • trimming tops and sides of branches (tractor or by hand)
  • spraying various treatments (tractor, manual or helicopter)



The growing season has gotten off to a quick start with the flowering of the vine taking place before June 10th. As of now, it looks like the harvest will begin around September 12th - a good 10 to 13 days early. This is due to the hot and muggy weather we had in early spring.
